Whether this will be fixed shortly or not remains to be seen. In addition, Aladdin has posted the freeware Aladdin StuffIt Expander 5.5 and the shareware Aladdin DropStuff 5.5. These also include fixes for Mac OS 9. If you get the StuffIt Deluxe 5.5 upgrade, the Expander and DropStuff upgrades are included.
